My name is Debbie Morales and I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist serving Roseville, Rocklin, and Granite Bay. I have over ten years of experience as a therapist working with children, teens, adults, couples, and families. I believe therapy is a collaborative process, with you and I each bringing our individual knowledge and skills together for you to make effective changes in your life. I have provided therapy services in schools, outpatient mental health, community settings, and in private practice settings. I have specific training in play and art therapy with children as well as Trauma-Focused therapy services to reduce PTSD/trauma symptoms. I have worked directly with clients experiencing a wide variety of difficulties including, but not limited to: anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, self-identity, difficulties finding the right partner, couple/marital conflict, pre-marital counseling, anger management, behavioral difficulties, family conflict, OCD, Borderline Personality Disorder, communication skills, social skills, impulsivity, and life transitions. I utilize several different therapy theories and I tailor my theoretical orientation to you based on what goals you have for therapy. The therapy theories I use are Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Humanistic theory, Psychodynamic, Play and Art therapy for children, and Systems theory for couples/families.
Education
I received my M.S. degree from California State University, Sacramento specializing in Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling. Prior to my education at Sacramento State, I received my B.S. degree from UC Davis in Psychology with a Biology emphasis. I have completed the 3,000 intern hours, as well as the two state licensing exams to become a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of California.
